Elect delegates and alternates to the county convention or legislative district caucus

Pooled caucus delegates are elected to be recognized at the Republican Jefferson County Convention which scheduled between March 24^th2012 and April 21, 2012.. Date and location will be on www.jeffGOP.com

There is an allocation of “pooled caucus” delegates for the county convention. The county convention will select delegates and alternates to the Washing State Republican Convention in Tacoma from May 30-June 2, 21012.

Port Townsend considers Climate Action Plan

NOTICE

The Climate Action Plan (CAP) under consideration by the City of Port Townsend WA and Jefferson County WA, if adopted, will commit the County and the City to spend hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars on programs to reduce carbon emissions down to only 20% of 1990 levels.

This is the Kyoto Treaty level, never ratified by the US Government. It is so non-economical that it requires government subsidies, grants, etc. to give the illusion of being a good investment. This requires added bureaucracy at every level of government and come with strings attached, like "matching" funds taken from our county property and sales taxes. This is only the first step. Next they plan to impose these same restrictions on all individuals and property owners!!!

Please come and express your concerns at the Board of County Commissioners meeting Monday, November 7, 2011 at the County Courthouse where the they will deliberate on accepting this plan.

This plan was developed by a joint city and county committee using information, advice and software from the ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives). This non-governmental organization was established by the United Nations to promote UN Agenda 21, the "Sustainable Development Initiative." If implemented, Agenda 21 will destroy our economy.

Jefferson County Republican Woman is hosting an October Fest Luncheon Fund Raiser for their annual Young Patriots Essay Contest.

On Thursday October 6, 2011 at the Ann Starrett Mansion 744 Clay Street, 12 noon. $25 donation and everyone is welcome. Call 385 3205 for your reservation.

The Republican Women of Jefferson County seek to deliver a message of patriotism through the words of America's youth and will be sponsoring their annual contest consisting of an essay on the topic “What is the meaning of the Preamble of our US Constitution.” The essay must have a minimum of 500 words and the following questions need to be answered such as: what did the writers of our Constitution have in mind when they wrote “in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” Should the United States Constitution be part of a new American citizenship education?

The winning prize is $500 and the contest is open to all 12th graders across Jefferson County. The Republican Women of Jefferson County realize the need to inspire and strengthen the American spirit so that we can prevail and protect our Republic. JCRW also believe in America's youth and supports to improve literacy and education. Our next generation of American leaders is currently being educated in today's high schools. It is important at that these young people reflect on what it means to be a free American. We are confident that Jefferson County’s public, private, parochial and home-schooled teens will submit excellent essays.

Entries must be mailed to GOP Essay Contest-JCRCC, P O Box 704, Chimacum, WA 98325 and must be postmarked not later than February 01, 2012. The entries will become property of the Republican Women of Jefferson County and the decision of the judges is final. The writer of the winning essay will be announced at the Republican Lincoln Day Luncheon (to be announced) where the winner will be presented with a $500.00 check.

Gene Farr will do a powerpoint program on the Shoreline Management Act, which restricts use of shoreline 150 feet plus. This makes some waterfront property worthless. Other property owners will see their taxes raised to make up for the loss in revenue from the taxes ordinarily paid by some shoreline taxpayers. Jim Boyer will represent the position of the Citizens Alliance for Property Rights. Do we have any recourse?

The struggle between the Wisconsin Governor and public employee unions has put this issue in the forefront for states facing huge deficits. "Budget for our future, Not Employee Unions" is a petition being circulated by the Freedom Foundation.

Michael Reitz is General Counsel of the Freedom Foundation and Director of the Freedom Foundation’s Constitutional Law Center. The Constitutional Law Center engages in legal analysis and litigation consistent with the Freedom Foundation’s core policy areas to advance a rule of law under which individuals are able to exercise their constitutional liberties and government is limited to its proper role in society. He is a member of the Washington and California bars and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. His research has been published and cited by the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, the Seattle Times and other publications. His television appearances include King 5’s Up Front and The Glenn Beck Show on Fox News.

This posting is from a public records request that I made several weeks ago. The majority of requests that the EPA Acting Director of Region 10 received were against the grant apllication that our director, Al Scalf, had applied for. This application was approved by the county commissioners and and the county administrator. The following quote is from a general response letter to me . The grant for over $500,00 was approved.

"The primary reason for awarding this grant is that it funds a center that is and ideal resource for a county with diverse opinions on what is needed to protect land and water resources. The grant work plan describes a center whose services are voluntary in nature. Thus the center does not represent an additional layer of bureaucracy, only an alternative for thise land owners who chose to seek more envirionmentally sound options"

Do we understand what is going on here? DCD cannot expedite what it is charged to do, so here is another excuse for bureaucratic interference in the application process. There is no mention of any information in the grant application that supports the onerous set-backs and buffers that the County Commissioners approved. I would also like a definition of what a more sound environmental option is?

Port Townsend's Intellicheck Mobilisa has a patron that is more consistent than the Energizer Bunny. Rep Norm Dicks has sent more than $20 millon to support the startup, including a no-bid $4.5 million contract in 2009.

Now Norm is funneling millions more through the "non profit" University of Washington.

Mobilisa Executives have responded to Norms largeness with $26,000 in political contributions.

Dear John,

When I met you as you were "doorbelling" I thought you were cute. You seemed to be very nice, sharing with me your vision of a green planet. Even though I knew nothing about you, you seemed congenial. I was hopeful as I signed my ballot that you were not just another pretty face double dipping in the county treasury.

Now that you are running for re-election, I feel compelled to write you. Fool me once, your fault, fool me twice, my fault! I won't be fooled again. When you were elected, the county had a surplus and a banking capacity. Both are gone! Prior to your taking office rural property owners were upset, now they are furious! Economic opportunity and jobs have been historic negatives in Jefferson County. Your answer to economic development was to fund another wasteful endeavor called Team Jefferson.

When you announced for re-election you promised to continue the work you were elected to do.

What you have done and what you plan to do scares me, so it's over between us.

Jefferson County GOP Invites Grassroots Activists

To Attend Feb. 13 Precinct Caucuses

Port Townsend, WA – Jefferson County Republican Party Chairman Ron Gregory released the following statement today about the County GOP’s upcoming precinct caucuses to be held February 13:

“We are excited to invite grassroots activists, new and old, to attend our upcoming precinct caucuses. We want them to help craft our party’s platform heading into the crucial mid-term elections of 2010. The precinct caucuses are the first step towards turning all of the grassroots energy we’ve seen in the past year into effective political action.”

At the precinct caucuses, delegates are elected to county conventions. From there, each county elects delegates to our State Convention, where the State Party’s platform is drafted for 2010. This year, the State Convention will be held in Vancouver, WA June 10-12.

Democrat County Commissioner, David Sullivan has put the taxpayers in Jefferson County on the hook for $41,515.00 because of his arrogance in ignoring a public record request from Joe D'Amico. Sullivan's "pizza gate" stonewalling has led to the the county's risk pool provider cancelling the county's insurance. The risk pool has a $10,000 deductible, who will pay this deductible? This deductible could buy a helluva lot of Papa Murphy's pizza!

This is more than a demonstration of Commissioner Sullivan's arrogance. This is an example of a number of elected Democrat office holders not stepping up at the very beginning of this court action.Where were the other two Democrats on the BoCC when D'Amico initiated this action? Where was the prosecuting attorney's office?

At the very least, Commissioner Sullivan should step forward with his check for $10,000 to cover the deductible.

Commissioner Sullivan's withholding of a public records request could cost the taxpayers of Jefferson County tens of thousands of dollars. Commissioner Sullivan's arrogance shows him to unfit for the public trust. Why did Democrat Commissioners Austin and Johnson twiddle their thumbs while the pizza was burning? Why did the Democrat Prosecuting Attorney not advise Commissioner Sullivan the public records was legitimate and shut off the oven?

Local pizza Establishments are hoping that their phone numbers will be made public when all phone records are made public.

Kitsap County Superior Court Judge, Sally Olsen ruled that Gardiner security services busibessman, Joe D'Amico, was denied his response to an open records request regarding his battles with Jefferson County over the use of his property for security training. Commissioner Sullivan, according to his county paid attorney was doing nothing more than ordering take out pizza.

Dammed expensive pizza!

The county could be fined thousand of dollars for Sullivan's arragance for refusing to cooperate with the information request. This is not the first time that Sullivan had demonstrated his incompetence as a county commissioner

Kudos for Joe D'Amico for exercising his rights. What will a take out pizza cost the taxpayers of Jefferson County? Perhaps the voters in District two need to take a second look at their representation?

They are at it again. The Jefferson County Commissioners and their ideologue base will not rest until constitutionally protected rights no longer exist in Jefferson County. The proposed "land swap" between Pope Resources and the Department of Natural Resources is a sensible solution for both entities. Since it makes sense the County Commissioners are in opposition. In spite of offering certain protections, Austin, Johnson and Sullivan said "their constituents" voiced strong opposition to the proposal.

Who are these naysayers? The Olympic Forest Coalition, the Hood Canal Canal Coalition, the Olympic Envitonmental Coalition and the Hood Canal Envirionmental Coalition. These are the organizations who are opposed to to growth on the Olympic Peninsula. Commissioner Austin in explaining his objection to the proposed trade said "Pope's mission is different. It's to earn a return for its stock holders" Commissioner Austin has spent his professional life as a ward of the government (government employee). Like most liberals, Commissioner Austin, has no understanding of where those tax dollars came from. John, it's the stockholders, it's the property owners, its the business person. The spotted owl does not pay taxes!
