Port Townsend considers Climate Action Plan

The Climate Action Plan (CAP) under consideration by the City of Port Townsend WA and Jefferson County WA, if adopted, will commit the County and the City to spend hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars on programs to reduce carbon emissions down to only 20% of 1990 levels.

This is the Kyoto Treaty level, never ratified by the US Government. It is so non-economical that it requires government subsidies, grants, etc. to give the illusion of being a good investment. This requires added bureaucracy at every level of government and come with strings attached, like "matching" funds taken from our county property and sales taxes. This is only the first step. Next they plan to impose these same restrictions on all individuals and property owners!!! 

Please come and express your concerns at the Board of County Commissioners meeting  Monday, November 7, 2011 at the County Courthouse where the they will deliberate on accepting this plan.

This plan was developed by a joint city and county committee using information, advice and software from the ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives). This non-governmental organization was established by the United Nations to promote UN Agenda 21, the "Sustainable Development Initiative."  If implemented, Agenda 21 will destroy our economy.
